We're In This Together
A curatorial project for PS Gallery in Columbia, MO, in conjunction with the 2012 Cultural Bricolage Conference at the University of Missouri.
We’re in this Together presents work by eight American artists who use books as a site for collaboration and interaction between the author-artist and the reader-viewer. Each of the books or book-like objects was created in relation to an installation, performance, or event. The artists complicate our expectations about books—instead of following a predetermined plot to a conclusion, we discover an unfolding, situational narrative, dependent on physical engagement with the work.
