The world’s first ever Connected Care System is the smart way to diaper. Track your baby’s activity in real time, 24/7 from anywhere with a smart sensor that attaches to the disposable diaper! Receive alerts to change dirty diapers, set reminders to show affection, and track sleep patterns and activity. Get to know your baby through insightful, real-time data.

Hands Free Devices is a body of work focused on the dehumanizing effects of technology and the ways data-obsessed reliance on digital devices erodes trust in intuition. Text describing real and imagined technology is screenprinted on handmade objects. I use analog processes like screenprinting and sewing to emphasize a handmade aesthetic, at the cost of efficiency and perfection. These “smart devices” boast capabilities to acquire real-time data, share information, and monitor human activity, but notably missing from these matter-of-fact claims is an appreciation for mystery and delayed gratification. As we humans adapt ourselves for technology with little or no restraint, I uncomfortably acknowledge the normalization of digital connectivity in place of mindful, physical connection and ask what is forfeited in the exchange.
