Guilt, Not Guilty
Guilt, Not Guilty
Wood, etching ink, oil paint, oil varnish
8" x 7.25" x 3.5"
Each wooden brick is separate. They are stacked on top of one another - not attached.
“Guilt, Not Guilty” is inspired by the sad, sad story of the American whistleblower, Edward Loomis, who exposed the truth about the U.S. government collecting all the cell phone data of American citizens. The bricks speak to the weight of guilt, domestic spaces, and the burden of responsibility. This piece is part of a body of work titled Not Wittingly, in which I explore themes of willful deception and complicit action in covert military projects.
